Topic: Francisco Guillermo Flores Perez

Baseball Toaster : Dodger Thoughts : January 2005
Perez is their best pitcher (actually Alvarez is, but he does not appear to be able to start much or for long), Weaver is OK, so is Lowe, Ishii is terrible, Penny is a question mark, and Jackson has a long way to go, and has not progressed so far.
Beltran Perez, who as a 19-year-old in 2001 had a better season in A ball than Muegge did last year, but who has remained at AA since, posting adequate but unimpressive numbers even accounting for the hitters' parks in the Texas League, and doing most of his 2004 work in the bullpen.
Perez should be welcomed back - despite his postseason meltdown, which might or might not turn out to be a learning experience, he is a quality pitcher.

 Cleveland Indians Report
Jason Davis has performed well, Rafael Perez was impressive yesterday, and Brian Slocum (now) and Andrew Brown (perhaps) will likely get their chance as well.
On that note, don't be surprised if Perez' big league stint is a short one and we see Andrew Brown get the call once he is available to pitch (likely on Friday).
Last night, Rafael Perez was roughed up by the Bay Sox to the tune of eight runs (seven earned) in 5-2/3 innings.

 El Salvador
ARENA's legislative position was weakened in the 1997 elections, but it recovered its strength, helped by divisions in the opposition, in time for another victory in the 1999 presidential race that brought President Francisco Guillermo Flores Perez to office.
A young and serious leader, Flores concentrated on modernizing the economy and strengthening bilateral relations with the U.S. by becoming a committed partner in anti-terror efforts, sending troops to aid in the reconstruction of Iraq, and by playing a key role in negotiations for the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).
Taking advantage of both public apprehension of Flores’ policies and ARENA infighting, the chief opposition party, the Farabundo Marti Liberation Front (FMLN), was able to score a significant victory against ARENA in the March 2003 legislative and municipal elections.

Antonio Perez looks to be a solid hitter who will back up 3 positions, and we can't give up Marco Clutcharo (though he is the most logical candidate).
