Francisco Scaramanga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Francisco Scaramanga is a fictional character in the James Bond film and novel The Man with the Golden Gun.
Scaramanga was hired by Hai-Fat to assassinate a British scientist named Gibson, thought to be in possession of information crucial to solving the energy crisis by creating a virtually unlimited amount of energy using a new technique of harnessing the sun's power.
Francisco Scaramanga, of Spanish Catalan origin, became a trick shot in a circus act while a youngster, and he also cared for one of the circus elephants.

From Fleming to Film: The Search for Scaramanga
His father was a ringmaster, and by the time Francisco was 10, he was a fabulous trick shot...his only friend in the circus was a huge African bull elephant who went berserk one day from his handler's mistreatment.
Scaramanga maintains an elegant girlfriend, Andrea Anders (played sympathetically by the sexy Maud Adams), an island paradise with a twisted indoor shooting range and a wicked little manservant by the name of Nick Nack (played to great effect by the diminutive actor, Herve Villechaize).
The main difference in Scaramanga's history is that at the age of 16, after the elephant incident, he emigrated illegally to the US where he lived a life of petty crime on the fringes of the gangs, eventually becoming an executioner of cheats and other transgressors for "The Mob".

The Bond Film Informant: The Man With The Golden Gun
Scaramanga's third nipple is mentioned by Fleming, but not used as a plot point in the way that it is in the film.
Scaramanga's entourage also includes his mistress, Andrea Anders, whom he sleeps with only before a kill since he believes that this improves his aim (which puts an interesting interpretation on one of the lyrics in the theme song).
Andrea hates Scaramanga but is too afraid to leave him so she sends a golden bullet to Bond in order to prompt him to kill Scaramanga.

When 007 discovers he is to be Scaramanga's next target, he is hurled into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, continuing the search as he evades the killer on his trail.
One of the major complaints that people have about this movie is that we are lead to believe that Bond is Scaramanga's next target but the realization that the bullet 007 recieves with his number in it was sent as an SOS by Scaramanga's mistress is a letdown.
Scaramanga is just as witty and cultured as 007, and their both great womanizers who kill people for a living.

 Spartanburg SC | GoUpstate.com | Spartanburg Herald-Journal
Nothing is really known about Scaramanga in the beginning of the film except that he has a third nipple (information which Bond later uses to get in touch with Scaramanga's financier, Hai Fat); no pictures or physical descriptions of him exist.
This could be a nod to the weapon that Scaramanga uses in the original novel, or a reference to the golden gun brandished by Auric Goldfinger during the climax of Goldfinger.
Scaramanga would have to be an incredible shot in order to make a one shot - one kill with such a small caliber bullet.

Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee, in a role first offered to Jack Palance) is perhaps the world's greatest assassin, charging $1 million per kill (a hefty price for 1974), which he always delivers with a single golden bullet.
Maud Adams, as Scaramanga's lover and betrayer Andrea Anders, lacks both the fear and the passion the character seems to demand.
Scaramanga's killing funhouse is incredibly hokey, and Bond's victory rests on the hazy notion that someone would put a working, loaded pistol in the hands of a wax figure.
