Frank Crozier was an Official War Artist who is represented in the Australian War Memorial's art collection along with other Official War Artists such as H.
Crozier was as a soldier with the Australian Imperial Force after enlisting in March 1915 where he served in the 22nd Battalion in Egypt and on the Gallipoli peninsula.
Crozier served in France in 1917, notably in the area around Pozieres but it was only in 1918 that he was made an official war artist.

Crozier was recommended to the service by Lieutenant Colonel Leslie MacDill, an Air Service Military Aviator, on June 5, 1919.
Crozier attempted to fly to the main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad, but the storm closed in, cutting off visibility completely.
His compass was not functioning correctly, so Crozier turned and flew with the storm until the ground became visible, landing at Englishtown at 12:30 pm.
