Charles was pompous and arrogant, but, unlike Frank, he was Hawkeye's equal in the operating room.
In this season, Charles repleced Frank, which was a refreshing change, as the Burns character had gotten so childish as to be unbelievable, and there was not much more to do with the character, especially after his romance with Margaret ended.
At this point in the show he's more of a snobbish version of Frank Burns, with the same snarky impatience for Hawkeye's jokes and some odd sexual tension with Margaret.

A History of Photography, by Robert Leggat: SUTCLIFFE, Frank Meadow
Sutcliffe followed in the wake of Emerson, whose fame lies in the photographing of the Whitby scene.
What is interesting is that he had followed Emerson's suggestion that instead of having the entire picture sharp (the aim of every early photographer whether or not they succeeded) he softened part of the picture, and the background in "Water Rats" is very soft and diffuse.
Sutcliffe was a member of the Photographic Society, but being opposed to the emphasis at that time on technique, left it to become a founder-member of the Linked Ring Brotherhood, 1892.

Winchester was okay, and it was a good move to not make him Frank II, but things were much less risible in "Farret Face's" absence.
Winchester had many funny scenes over the years, but Frank Burns was, in many ways, the show's "comic relief".
Charles didn't have a chance because he was a conservitive, and they are always buffoons on television.

Of course, Frank's greatest triumphs were his 2 million-seller hits, "Just Because" in 1948 followed shortly by the even-bigger "Blue Skirt Waltz." At that time, gold records were a rarity for any artist, let alone a purveyor of polkas.

The signing of Emerson would help to ease Chelsea’s current central defensive crisis amid a rapidly faltering Premiership campaign — but it would also be likely to raise questions over the future of Frank Leboeuf.
Emerson, nicknamed The Wall due to his imposing physique, was signed by former Wednesday boss Ron Atkinson following the defender’s release from Portuguese giants Benfica.
Due to his superb performances last season, which helped to keep the club in the top flight, Emerson was hoping for a new contract to match his consistently high level of display.

Fitzgerald was reluctant to rate Rafter against former Australian champions, and particularly those like Frank Sedgman, Lew Hoad, Ken Rosewall, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson and Neale Fraser.
It is not stretching the bounds of fantasy to suggest Rafter could have won as many as five majors, a figure which would have put him on par with Frank Sedgman and ahead of Lew Hoad and Ashley Cooper in the Australian gallery of grand slam stars.
At his peak, he was able to illuminate tennis against a backdrop of assembly line baseliners and it is one of sport's capricious quirks he should retire without a Wimbledon or Davis Cup champions' trophy on his mantelpiece, as his little mate Lleyton Hewitt is already assured of doing.

But it has been left to Frank Gaffney and a few others, including Daniel Pipes and Steven Emerson, to make the case and to suffer the inevitable recriminations that have followed earlier disclosures of some aspects of this story.
What is particularly disturbing, about the information in this article by former Reagan Defense official, Frank Gaffney, is that it concerns an individual who loves this country and would be the last person to wish it harm, and the first one would expect to defend it.
As an Internet magazine, with a wide circulation, we have been in the forefront of the effort to expose the radical Fifth Column in this country, whose agendas are at odds with the nation’s security, and whose purposes are hostile to its own.

Yellowstone National Park: Its Exploration and Establishment (Notes)
Surveyor-General Meredith of Montana Territory had the larger of the two lakes shown as "DeLacy's Lake" on the map prepared in his office in 1867, and it was known by that name until changed to Shoshone Lake by Professor Frank H. Bradley, of the U.S. Geological and Geographical Survey of the Territories (Hayden Survey).
It was necessary to specify the outlet as a point of reference because deLacy's portrayal of his lake is grotesque—being both misaligned and nearly twice too large.
Bradley's unkind statement came to the attention of deLacy, who said: "When I saw this note in his report of 1873, I wrote a short narrative of the trip, and sent it, together with my original notebook and the original map, to Dr. Hayden, by the hands of Mr.

Recognisable influences include Emerson, King Crimson (in the occasional angularity and polyrhythms) and Frank Zappa (the jazzy "European Things" is a credited homage to Zappa and like with many of Zappa 's lyrics, its humour is both mordant and morbid), but many sections could just as well be described as light classical music.
Linda Hoyle continued to record for Vertigo, releasing the LP "Pieces of Me" in 1971, on which she was backed by Chris Spedding and Soft Machine members John Marshall and Karl Jenkins.
Despite the lack of rhythm section (I think there is some synthesized hi-hat on one song) and sparsity of instrumentation, the music sounds driving and full, as Vedres' truly virtuosic piano work cascades around and bounces from Pejtsik's alternatively lyrical and sawing cello.
