Frank Fay (American actor) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Frank Fay (November 17, 1897 – September 25, 1961) was a movie and stage actor, most famous for playing 'Elwood P. Dowd' (whose friend is an invisible 6-foot rabbit) in the play Harvey by the American playwright Mary Coyle Chase on Broadway.
He took the professional name of Frank Fay after concluding that his birth name was not suitable for the stage.
His Broadway talent did not translate to the big screen well: whereas Stanwyck achieved Hollywood stardom fairly rapidly, Fay played in a series of films casting him as a debonair lover, irresistible to women.
