		When Grimes' son discovered that Homer had been responsible for his father's death, he attempted to kill Homer, but the Simpsons caught him with the help of Sideshow Bob (The police operating on the principle of 'set a homicidal maniac to catch a homicidal maniac').
		The appearance of Frank Grimes as well as his denouement and eventual death are similar to Michael Douglas' portrayal of laid-off defense worker William Foster in Falling Down.
		Robert Duvall played a character named Frank Grimes in the 2001 drama John Q. Frank Grimes is also the name of a character in the 1991 movie Pure Luck, which features Harry Shearer, one of the voice actors of The Simpsons.
