Frank Edward Moss (September 23, 1911 – January 29, 2003) was a moderate Democratic United States Senator from Utah.
Moss worked on the legal staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1937 to 1939.
The Republican vote was split in the general election, largely over local dissatisfaction with Watkins' having chaired the committee that censured Sen. Joseph McCarthy, and Moss won election with less than 40 percent of the vote.

He was born in Holladay, a suburb of Salt Lake City, on 23 September 1911, the youngest of seven children of James E. Moss, a well-known secondary-school educator, and Maude Nixon Moss.
Moss was elected to a second term in 1964, soundly defeating with 57 percent of the vote Brigham Young University President Ernest L. Wilkinson, a conservative Republican, in a bitter campaign.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Frank Moss spoke on a panel about electronic passports at the Conference on Computers, Freedom and Privacy in mid-April.
Third up on the panel was Steinhardt, who proceeded to give a live demonstration of scanning a passport, which was outfitted with an RFID chip of the type specified in the standard, at a distance of three feet.
Moss finally seemed to have paid attention when this was demonstrated in front of him because a few days later, he told Wired News that the government was suddenly "taking a very serious look" at the scanning issue.

Web Services have come accompanied by a lot of ridiculous hype, I agree, but for Frank Moss to go to the other extreme and claim that Web Services represents nothing unusual is also a fallacy.
What a silly piece - Frank Moss' company has a vested interest in pitching that the major vendors are going to lock you in - that's the only way he keeps his company afloat now that all competitive advantage has been taken away from Bowstreet.
Frank is right that the "bigs" want to lock us in.
