  Frankenstein
Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a Novel by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
Frankenstein is in some ways allegorical, and was conceived and written during an early phase of the Industrial Revolution, at a time of dramatic change.
Frankenstein and his utter disregard for the human and animal remains gathered in his pursuit of power can be taken as symbolic of the rampant forces of Laissez-faire Capitalism extant at the time and their basic disregard for human dignity.

Frankensteins - Frankenstein Stories, Frankenstein Photos and Frankenstein Discussion
Written by Koontz, "Frankenstein" is a modern version of the classic tale of man and monster, and the consequences of playing God.
The name Frankenstein is the former name of Zabkowice Slaskie, a city in Silesia and the historical home of the Frankenstein family.
In current usage, Frankenstein is often incorrectly used to refer to Frankenstein's monster rather than to its creator.

 Shaggy dog story Information
Therefore, if the audience is not already familiar with the phrase used in the punch line, or is not aware of the multiple meanings of the words in the phrase, the surprise ending of the joke cannot be recovered by "explaining" the joke to the audience.
A shaggy-dog story may not have a pun at all; the humor (if any) is then derived from the fact that the joke-teller held the attention of the listeners for a long time (such jokes can take five minutes or more to tell) for no reason at all (an anticlimax).
The recurring "Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time" sketch on Late Night with Conan O'Brien is similar in format to a shaggy dog story.

 :: rogerebert.com :: Reviews :: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (xhtml)
"Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" has all of the usual props of the Frankenstein films, brought to a fever pitch: The dark and stormy nights, the lightning bolts, the charnel houses of spare body parts, the laboratory where Victor Frankenstein stirs his steaming cauldron of life.
The story leading up to Frankenstein's desire to create life involves his love affair with Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), his sister by adoption.
Carter continues to blossom as a passionate English rose, and Branagh, as Frankenstein, is convincingly obsessed with her (they kiss as the camera whirls around them like an homage to "Vertigo").

Although he could not reconcile himself to the investigations of Azariah di Rossi, and understood all the utterances of the Aggadah (narrative, non-legal parts of the Talmud) literally, yet he was entirely in favor of scientific research in so far as the latter did not contradict divine revelation.
This is not actually a tale of the supernatural, in spite of the title, though at time the strange things that happen border on the supernatural and the events are all overshadowed by the legend of the golem.
Time and again Pernath returns to the legend of the golem in his thoughts as his life patterns itself after the golem's.

Frankenstein orders his thugs to kidnap Alicia (Sasha Montenegro), the wrestling idol's gal pal, as bait.
Both Dracula and Dr. Frankenstein naturally need a gang of criminals to do their bidding (in addition to the monsters at their command), so you can expect some major fight scenes when Santo and Blue Demon have to open up a can of whoop-ass on 'em.

Frankenstein's monster (played by crew member Brian Stack) appears by one of the doors leading from the main set, acting excited about something, and inviting the cameraman (and the audience, vicariously) to come with him to take a look.
Once Frankenstein found Tom Hanks during the sketch, and moved Hanks out of the way to show off a light switch.
Since NBC owns Universal, the Frankenstein monster looking like the one from the movies and sharing the same logo in the sketch title as Universal's monster is no coincidence; neither is the sketch also appearing shortly after the buy-out.

In "The Land Before Time" the filmmakers make a strategic error, I think, by making their dinosaurs into children.
Littlefoot's saga is an adventure recycled directly out of other movies of this genre, and indeed I was not surprised to discover that the authors of the story also wrote "An American Tail." Both films involve a childlike creature who is separated from its parents.
But the animation treats this wasteland gently, with little details such as the sparkling drops of water that fall from a leaf, or the ways in which the clumsy childlike movements of the little creatures are lovingly created.

Again Lugosi steals what show there is with his manic performance of the sick hunchback, this time out even adding a sad "my friend" angle to the character.
Obviously a family that doesn't keep in touch, Ludwig Frankenstein seems to have no idea that Ygor is completely insane and wants to control the world using the monster, only this time by placing his brain in the Monster's body.

Around the time I created my faux SS, Chevrolet was revitalizing the badge with wicked vehicles like the 454 SS pickup and the Impala SS muscle sedan.
The Malibu SS reminds me of the "Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time" sketches on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," wherein Frankenstein's monster excitedly leads the camera around the studio, and then triumphantly points to a completely ordinary object, like a light switch.
Like Conan's Frankenstein, the Malibu's SS trim promises to lead us to something exciting, but when we pop the hood we find a 240-horsepower V-6 hooked to a four-speed automatic transmission.

And as time wears on, fans will actually *plan* to go to the show to see BOTH a Smackdown taping and an ECW one (as opposed to those fans last week who'd probably bought their tickets well in advance of the ECW brand being announced as part of the show).
Sure the match took up some "valuable" TV time, but it was a *great* tongue-in-cheek parody of the goofiness and hypocrisy of the Sci Fi network, and an *awesome* way to establish ECW (and its poster boy in The Sandman) as the ass-kicking alternative to your usual Sci Fi Network fare.
