Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) is a national German newspaper, founded in 1949.
Some editors had worked for the Frankfurter Zeitung, which was banned in 1943.
However, besides the Süddeutsche Zeitung the FAZ is leading among Germany's quality newspaper in providing a forum for individuals (such as Ernst Nolte) who have come under fire for promoting theories that are seen by some as expressing nationalist and revisionist theories and are in this function frequently featured in neo-fascist publications.

 FAZ and Frankfurter Zeitung
In contrast to immediate takeover of the Ullstein and Mosse groups, overt government 'coordination' of the Zeitung was gradual - apparently because Goebbels regarded the paper as an international showpiece and because its elite readership was deemed of lesser concern than the mass readership of the other group.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) was launched in November 1949 under the leadership of Erich Welter.
He had served as editor-in-chief of the Vossisches Zeitung in Berlin from 1932 to 1934 and was on the FZ editorial staff from 1935 to 1943.

FRANKFURT am 25 August 2000 -- At first glance it is indeed difficult to understand how a market, such as the gold market, which shows a chronic production deficit, is decaying over decades and how this results in prices that force an ever-increasing number of gold producers to abandon their business.
In the free market, which in the case of gold is being "made" by the leading business and investment banks, they have to take a good look at the solvency of their own clients as well their counterparties, when trading with derivatives.

Furthermore, it is one thing to suggest that the European Union be more dependent on referenda and the participation of its citizens and another entirely to consider that even such "populist" democracy may bring little resolution.
And one final article in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung announced that "at the latest, a group of ten new EU states could be accepted by 2005." ("Big solution for the eastward enlargement of the EU?" Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, 20 September). It appears that for Germans a definitive resolution on the "imminent" European expansion is not forthcoming.
