We know that it was not the pioneer, John Piatt, of Jefferson County, Missouri, as he had no daughter named Agnes at the time of his death in 1827.
Frederick Wengler, a substantial and useful citizen of St. Louis County, was born September 25, 1821, in Prussia, near Verden, on the River Ruhr, a tributary of the famous Rhine.
He then located at Union, in Franklin County, and took employment as a journeyman shoemaker, but some months later he was seized with an attack of typhoid fever, from which he was disabled for six months.

The second courthouse built in Union was on the square; it was a one-story, brick building with one room on the south and three on the north.
But the county seat remained at Union; the one-story, brick courthouse was used until 1849.
The building measured 45 by 60 feet; the courtroom on the second floor was to have 16-foot ceilings, with a gallery on the south; the stairs, too, were located on the south end of the building (see Figure 2).

I have not been able to locate a marriage record for her marriage to Joseph H. Reed even though logic would dictate they were married in Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Newton County, Missouri as that is where her husband and his family were members prior to their removal to Texas.
Not identified is the Jas/Jos Howard, age 12, enumerated with William Bruten in Hill County in 1860.
