Warren County, located in northwestern New Jersey, occupies an area of approximately 364 square miles, and is 32 miles long, with an average width of 13 miles.

The tree-cutting trip was an opportunity for Brown to show the importance of Christmas trees in New Jersey's overall agricultural economy.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, WARREN COUNTY- The Attorney General's Shooting Response Team is conducting an investigation involving the early morning shooting (Fri., May 30) and critically wounding of a 16-year veteran of the Washington Township Police Department located in rural Warren County, New Jersey.
According to Captain Joseph R. Fuentes, Acting Superintendent, New Jersey State Police, Warren County Prosecutor John Lakey, and Chief James J. McDonald, Washington Township Police Department, Washington Township police officer John E. Schramm, 41, was critically wounded, suffering gunshot wounds to the face, neck and arm.
The Warren County Prosecutor's Office and the Washington Township Police Department are assisting the investigation.
