We headed for the Fox and Franz Joseph glaciers in the am and saw the Pancake Rocks on the way down the coast.
These are rocks that have been pushed up from the sea floor and for some reason (they still have experts a bit stumped) erosion created grooves in the rock that make them look like a stack of pancakes.
We stayed that night in Franz Joseph but drove to Fox that afternoon to see the Fox Glacier and also walk around Lake Matheson which has a great view of Mt. Cook.
