Stuck studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich as a pupil of Ferdinand Barth (1878-1881) and at the Münchner Kunstakademie, where he was taught by Wilhelm von Lindenschmit and Ludwig von Löfftz (1881-1885).

Born at Tettenweis near Griesbach in Lower Bavaria, Franz von Stuck attended the Munich School for the Applied Arts after secondary school, transferring in 1881 to the Königliche Akademie der bildenden Künste [Royal Academy for the Fine Arts].
The building, with which Stuck, the 'prince of artists', erected as a monument to himself in the grand manner of the Renaissance, is acclaimed as a supreme achievement of its kind in architecture.
The many other prizes and honours awarded to Stuck included the Ritterkreuz des Verdienstordens der Bayerischen Krone [Cross of Knighthood in the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown], a distinction coupled with elevation to knighthood.

I've heard about a painting by Franz von Stuck of the German god Wotan painted the year Hitler was born.
The painting you are talking about is called "Die wilde Jagd" (The Wild Hunt) and the huntsman in the painting does indeed bear an uncanny resemblance to Hitler (the hair, mustache, face).
But it was painted by von Stuck in 1889, the year of Hitler's birth.
