In Fraser's Hill it's cool throughout the year at an average of 18 - 20 degree Celsius, the attraction of Fraser's Hill as a tourist resort has not diminished through the years.
The last 8 km from the Gap to the top of Fraser's hill is along scenic, narrow winding road which carries one-way traffic from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The search for Fraser proved fruitless but he had on the other hand discovered a perfect mountain retreat - one that was to become one of Malaysia's foremost hill resorts.

Fraser's Hill at best is a nature lover's paradise, and at worst (for those who hate the outdoors) a boring, dead town in the middle of nowhere, where everyone is home by about 10p.m.
And as for dining up in Frasers Hill, there aren't any proper "restaurants' as such, except for those in the bigger hotels, but there are a few small eating places, of the plastic table & chair variety that serves mainly local food.

Frasers Hill takes its name after a legendary trader-adventurer, Louis James Fraser, who was operating a tin ore trading station in the forested Titiwangsa Range between Pahang and Selangor at the end of the 19th century.
In the late 1880s, Louis James Fraser was last seen trudging along a beaten jungle path connecting Tras and Kuala Kubu, hauling a team of mules laden with crude tin ore. No one has seen him after that and his disappearance has remained a mystery.

The last 8 kms from the Gap to Fraser's Hill is a regulated road allowing only one-way traffic, uphill (odd hours) and downhill (even hours), by daylight (It is not advisable to make this leg of the journey at night).
Over the next few days I would be Travelling to Kaulalampur and Frasers Hill in Malaysia.
Frasers Hill is a small hill station located 70 Kms to the North of Kaulalampur and is supposed to be a birdwatcher's paradise (I am missing my Salim Ali's equivalent book here).

Small flocks of Siberian Thrushes winter at Fraser's Hill and it is along the forest trails that we hope to find this species.
Amongst the rarer species occurring at Fraser's Hill are Cutia, the endemic Malaysian Whistling Thrush and Rhinoceros Hornbill.

The 'padang' was filled with boys and girls flying kites and for some reason he was not able to or allowed to.
