 Tellefsen Hall History
The national decline in college fraternity membership that had occurred during the early 1970s facilitated a deal between Tellefsen Hall and the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity: the Prospect Street House (plus $50,000) was given to the fraternity in exchange for the Lambda Chi Alpha House.
In the late 1950s, Band members thought that it would be great to have a House that would serve both as living quarters and as a base from which leading Band members could discuss and influence the direction of the Band.
Band officers encouraged members to live there, and it also served as a venue for social gatherings for the Band.

 Fraternity Album Discography
The earliest Fraternity sides were cut in Chicago, using the band of Dan Belloc, a Chicago-born musician, also a veteran of the big band era.
About the same time, Fraternity placed a song called "Walk Tall" by the duet of Patti Valentine and Linda Parrish (calling themselves "2 of Clubs") on the lower reaches of the national charts, but the song was a top-10 hit in places like Chicago.
She had already had two unsuccessful singles on Fraternity, but when Tin Pan Alley tune "Ivory Tower" became available, she easily won the chart competition over the r&b-flavored version by Otis Williams (on Cincinnati-based DeLuxe Records, a division of King) and the mediocre vocal on Dot Records by TV star Gale Storm.

The earliest Fraternity sides were cut in Chicago, using the band of Dan Belloc, a Chicago-born musician, also a veteran of the big band era.
When he started Fraternity Records in 1954 (with "silent" partner Dr. Ashton Welsh), it was to promote popular music and jazz, unlike the giant King label, which specialized in country and blues.
The recording was inspired; unlike the slow tempo of Berry's version, McIntosh rolled out a snappy, danceable, and in retrospect, memorable, version of the song that Fraternity issued under the name Lonnie Mack.

Apparently, the Fraternity Of Man, besides being a very funny band, were shall we say, er, a little eccentric...weird even.
Then the guy comes back the next night, and someone from the band comes back as well, and the guy says: "hey man let's go out and have a joint, what the f**k".
A tireless man. I mean he would wake up and go to work, take a little time for a burnt weeny sandwich, and drink cup after cup of coffee to the detriment of his health.

Band together: Budding musical play celebrity roles by entertaining Syracuse campus - Pulp
Although college bands have been seen at local bars, house parties and fraternity basements, it seems valid to question whether they have built reputable names among students or if they have become just another distraction in the background.
With a large and diverse student population, as well as a campus situated within a city, local bands seem to have no problem establishing a fanbase for their particular genre of music.
The bands run through set after set, finally ending the night with a hearty thanks and a drunken cheer.

Mars said that while there are no current plans for a CD release in the near future, the band will continue to promote Broken Arrow and book shows in neighboring southern states.
Eventually, Mars said he began to see the need to produce a CD to "keep his songs alive" and added bassist Andy Sample and drummer Andrew Hammer to form the Charlie Mars Band.
