The Seattle Times: Music & nightlife: Fans screaming and singing along with The Fray
The Fray trotted out every touchstone of the rock-show formula Sunday night at the Paramount: a high-energy opener, myriad lighting effects, multiple sing-alongs, a cool-down ballad section, a lead-singer-alone-with-his-guitar moment, and, of course, the big single closing the show.
When the band played its two biggest hits ("Over My Head" and the album's title track), the screams were deafening, and a sea of cellphones was raised in the air, presumably to snap pictures or share the moment with a friend.
Assuming those friends like the music and maybe tell more friends, it's not hard to imagine a time in the near future when the Fray will be able to fill an arena and put on the full-scale rock show it alluded to Sunday night.
