He was almost unbeatable for the next two years and captured the BCRA title twice more in 1947 and 1948.
Agabashian did not limit his driving abilities to midgets.
He won in big cars and stock cars as well which earned him a ride at Indianapolis for the 1947 race.

Indianapolis 500 drivers Fred Agabashian and Duane Carter, team owner Bob Wilke and motorsports journalist Chris Economaki are the 2005 Auto Racing Hall of Fame inductees.
Agabashian played a role in one of racing’s biggest upsets by winning the pole for the 1952 Indianapolis 500 with a revolutionary Cummins Diesel-powered car, boosted by racing’s very first turbocharger.
Another outstanding spokesperson for the sport, the articulate Agabashian was noted for his ability to “set up” a race car and was in great demand each May for the purpose of “test-hopping” cars for other teams.

Driver Agabashian, aware the team possessed something special, was accused of sandbagging in practice; Agabashian never tipped off the opposition by putting together a full lap at speed.
But Agabashian had to “dirt track” the heavy (2400-pound vs. 1800/1900-pound) car around the place, throwing the tread from a couple of tires in the process.
On race day, however, Agabashian was forced out by overheating after 71 laps, the culprit being the mysterious turbo supercharger.

The qualifying lap time was only 135.364 MPH, 2.5 MPH under Fred Agabashian and only good enough for the 7th position.
It lead the race for only 44 laps, but the last one is the one that counts.

As usual the Indianapolis 500 was included in the World Championship but none of the Europeans went to The Brickyard in 1953.
Qualifying resulted in Bill Vukovich - who had nearly won in 1952 - setting the pace with Fred Agabashian and Jack McGrath completing the front row while the second row was shared by Miguel Ayulo, Andy Linden and Tony Bettenhausen.
Vukovich took the lead and remained the dominant force throughout the race, winning easily.
