		Around 1924 the company name was changed to the Fred Carlson Company and Fred continued to guide the company until his death on April 17, 1927.
		During his life, Fred earned the respect of his employees and those who knew him, as evidenced by his obituary where he was described as “one of Decorah’s most respected citizens.” Fred’s death left his two sons Frederic Hjalmar and Roy Evert to continue the operation of the business.
