Fred Luther Foster (born July 26, 1931) is a songwriter, music record producer, and founder of Monument Records.
Foster played a significant role in Dolly Parton's early career, signing her to Monument in 1964, shortly after her arrival in Nashville, when no other record companies were interested.
Amongst the songs for which he is noted, Fred Foster co-wrote (with Kris Kristofferson) Me and Bobby McGee which was a very big hit, both for Kristofferson himself, as well as for Janis Joplin.

Fred Meyer argues that the trial court erred in denying its motion for a directed verdict, because it had, in fact, established that Stranahan was committing the crime of trespass at the time of her arrest, and thus her arrest was lawful.
Fred Meyer also argues that the ruling that Stranahan's arrest was unlawful violates the equal privileges and immunities provision of Article I, section 20, of the Oregon Constitution, as well as the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Fred Meyer is arguing, in essence, that, despite the fact that its policy on this issue is relevant, inconsistent statements made by one of its vice presidents on the subject are not relevant.
