Frederick George Abberline was born on 8 January 1843 in Blandford, Dorset to Edward and Hannah Abberline.
No matter how muddled Inspector Abberline was in 1902, back in 1888 or when he retired in 1892, he still believed that Jack-the-Ripper was still alive and undiscovered even though George Chapman was hung for the crimes.
Inspector Abberline, in the film, was known to have psychic abilities, with the help of a mixture of absinthe and laudanum, which Abberline drank and smoked, he would have visions about which of the prostitutes would die next.

Chief Inspector Frederick George Abberline (January 8, 1843–December 10, 1929) was an inspector for the London Metropolitan Police, and was a prominent police figure in the investigation into the Jack the Ripper murders.
Upon his death, Abberline was buried in the same town, Bournemouth, as Montague Druitt, a teacher who had been named as a suspect in the Ripper murders.
Abberline is buried in Wilmborne Road Cemetery while Montague Druitt is buried at Wimborne Minster Cemetery, although there are some other Druitt family graves at Wimborne Road.

Abberline has no clue who this madman is, and the only signature that Jack the Ripper leaves is by saying that his letters are written From Hell.
Soon we meet Inspector Abberline, played by Johnny Depp, and he is after the killer who has begun killing everyone around Mary Kelly for reasons that are unknown.
