Young Frederick showed artistic gifts and was apprenticed as an engraver to the American Banknote Company.

OUSELEY, SIR FREDERICKARTHUR GORE (1825-1889), English composer, was the son of Sir Gore Ouseley, ambassador to Persia, and nephew to Sir William Ouseley, the Oriental scholar.
He was born on the 12th of August 1825 in London, and manifested an extraordinary precocity in music, composing an opera at the age of eight years.

(Frederick, MD) - Construction has begun on the Maryland National Golf Club, a new upscale public facility located in the rolling Maryland hills near Frederick.
Arthur Hills / Steve Forrest and Associates has completed the design for the par-71, 6658 yard layout which is targeted for a spring 2002 opening.
Arthur Hills stated, "this is a fine setting for a golf course.

BRIDGMAN, FrederickArthur, painter, born in Tuskogee, Alabama, 10 November, 1847.
At the age of five years he declared he would be an artist, and at sixteen he removed to New York and became an apprentice in the engraving department of the American Bank-Note Company.
