Jones' associate pastor, Rev. Ellsworth Tolliver, has visited Dotson in jail a half-dozen times and has kept a record of their meetings in his diary.
Bliss, who tried to portray Dennehy as a drug dealer to help hide payments he had made to the player in violation of NCAA rules, also said in the tapes that Waco police were "on his side" during their investigation of Dennehy's disappearance, according to the paper.
Bliss also confirmed in the tapes previous assertions that Dennehy and Dotson had bought weapons to protect themselves after allegedly having been threatened by teammate Harvey Thomas, according to the Post.

Frederick Jones Bliss (1857 - 1939) was an American archaeologist.
After training under Flinders Petrie in Egypt, Bliss became involved with the Palestine Exploration Fund working in the field of Biblical archaeology at the site of Tell el-Hesi between 1894 and 1897.
His excavation reports appeared frequently in the Quarterly Statement of the Palestine Exploration Fund, and included the first jar handle stamped by one of the Hebron LMLK seals (in 1899 simultaneously the first one with a 4-winged icon) as well as the first complete MMST inscription (in 1900).

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Leading scorer Frederick Jones was sick, and his Oregon teammates looked tired for most of the first half in the first Pacific-10 Conference tournament game in 12 years.
Kent said Jones had a fever of 102 degrees shortly before the start of the game at Staples Center, and the 6-foot-4 senior certainly played like he was under the weather in the first half.
A 3-pointer by Mark Michaelis and a three-point play by Jones with 10:02 remaining extended Oregon's lead to 61-51, and two foul shots by Jones a little over two minutes later made it 68-55.

This vital connection launched the archaeological career of Frederick Jones Bliss, a lone American working for the British Palestine Exploration Fund.
Because Bliss worked for the British for a decade, many later scholars downplayed his American nationality and sensibilities, as well as his scientific achievements.
This volume brings Bliss and his American compatriots back to the forefront of the story, and explains why they have been so often left out.
