BLACKMAIL and THE LAST HOUR were written later in 1925 and 1926.
When American impresario Al Woods arrived in London in 1927, he found himself in possession of a theater but in need of a play to replace Frederick Lonsdale’s FOREIGNERS which was abandoned.
He advertised for authors to send their manuscripts for review, and to my satisfaction, he chose my play BLACKMAIL from among 300 submissions.
