Frederick Wellington Ruckstull (May 22, 1853 - May 26, 1942) French-born American sculptor and art critic.
In 1885, Ruckstull entered the Académie Julian, and studied under Gustave Boulanger, Camille Lefèvre, Jean Dampt and Antoine Mercié.
Ruckstull was a founder of the National Sculpture Society.

Then, one day in 1895 his neighbor suggested that Frederic start sculpting because he could see people and scenes in three dimensions -- that is to say Remington could see, in his mind, all around a figure he was drawing or sculpting (Plain 83).
As luck has it, this neighbor, Augusta Thomas, had a friend who happened to be a sculptor, Frederick Ruckstull.
Ruckstull encouraged Remington and even provided him with all the sculpting equipment he needed to started working on his first bronze, The Bronco Buster (Plain 83-84).

During his studies at the Royal Academy, he won the Academy's silver medal (1772), gold medal (1776) and finally a travelling scholarship in 1777, which he spent on developing his style in Italy.
When in Rome, Soane met the builder and Bishop of Derry, Frederick Augustus Hervey, 4th Earl of BristolFrederick Augustus Hervey, whom he accompanied to Ireland.
However, he failed to find work there, so returned to England in 1780 and settled in East Anglia where he established a small architectural practice.

Hampton served as Governor from 1876-1879 and was called the "Saviour of South Carolina" for leading the state out of the hardships and terrors of the Reconstruction decade.
The bronze statue, located on the North side of the Wade Hampton office building in the Capitol Complex, is 15 feet tall and 17 feet long and was sculpted by Frederick W. Ruckstull.

Another was Mickey Walker-famous boxer, Ruby Keeler-wife of Al Johnson, Frederick Ruckstull-famous sculptor, George M. Huss-porominent architect, the McMahons who built the beautiful home on the corner of Lawrence avenue and Shore Boulevard, who created the old famous comic strip "Maggie and Jigs".
Another famous person of the times was James Carton-Actor and Song writer, who wrote a song for Keansburg titled "Dear old Keansburg" which deals withhis feelings of the Keansburg Boardwalk and surroundings that goes:
