 Eric Garland passes away
Eric C. Garland, recently retired professor of Civil Engineering, and Associate Vice-President (Administration) Emeritus, at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and Saint John, passed away on Saturday, February 22, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Among the construction projects on the Fredericton campus he recalls with greatest pride are the Wu Conference Centre and the multipurpose Aitken University Centre, which is a combination hockey rink, concert hall and civic centre.
Garland is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one son, Stephen Garland, and his wife Judith of Courtenay, Vancouver Island; one daughter, Laurinda Garland-Drummond, and her husband Daniel of Fredericton; one brother, Cecil Garland of Fredericton; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Mary Morehouse of Windsor Court, Fredericton.
