York North is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Canada.
The districts boundaries were significantly altered in 1994 — taking on parts south of the St. John River and losing the village of Nackawic and surrounding communities — and its name was changed to Mactaquac as a result.
In 2006, its boundaries were restored to nearly its original configuration and thought the Electoral Boundaries Commission did not recommend a name change, the legislature later took the decision to revert it to its original name as well.

The electoral system and the referendum are not mentioned in news acounts of the campaign (despite multiple attempts on my part to search for stories including these themes).
Theoretically, when major electoral reform is being proposed, one might expect the issue to be raised in an election campaign–especially in a close election, in which even if the percentage of voters who could be swayed by the issue of “reform”; is small, it could be decisive.
As it is, each electoral system has its advantages and disadvantages, and some would argue that continuing to use the plurality system and the same voter registration mechanism might not be the best option for democracy in Yemen.
