	what to do about outsourcing jobs and Freetrade inequities: tariffs focused on population size
		The trouble with Freetrade when it passed in the 1990s was that no-one factored in the "population size" as a bias or disadvantage to countries.
		Whenever you freetrade between a overpopulated country like China with USA which has a relatively small population in comparison is that the behemoth will over time ruin the small populated country and suck out the jobs and richness of the underpopulated country.
		Freetrading is never Fairtrading if one country is vastly overpopulated compared to another country.

		In PHP (which FreeTrade is written in) it is very natural for a screen module to call a database module in order to get data to be displayed.
		FreeTrade has a principal that states that a bare piece of HTML must be suitable for use as a screen module.

		If no one is willing to give up better service to save on commissions, it would expose the fact that the thing most online brokerages charge for is not the thing for which customers are paying.
		Freetrade's failure is as likely to change the industry as its success.

		Last week, budget-minded stock traders were stunned to receive this falsely happy-sounding announcement in their email inboxes: "Your Freetrade account is moving to Ameritrade Izone!" But exclamation point or no, this was not good news.
		Judging from reactions to Freetrade's announcement on our own Foolish HG: Choosing a Broker board, many soon-to-be-ex-Freetraders view the change as little more than a "bait and switch." Worse for Ameritrade, they're talking about abandoning that company altogether and moving their accounts to brokers that are just as, or nearly as, cheap as Izone.
		And it suggests that the Freetrade experiment may turn out to be a dot-bomb in more ways than one.

		Freetrade should raise this red flag very clearly on its web page, or -- better -- offer to transfer securities for some fee.
		But because the exchanges charge Freetrade (and everyone else) for stock quotes, Freetrade gives you a quote only when you're in the process of making a trade, but not if you just want to check on stock prices.

		It started in early 1998 (or maybe late 1997) when a bunch of students at Union College, plus me, still in high school at the time, played several massive games of TradeWars in succession.
		FreeTrade itself started in late 1998 when Bitscape and Neelix decided to write a TradeWars clone for their final project for C++ class.

	Forums - Freetrade or Izone?
		Freetrade has been around for a number of years but is not, to the best of my knowledge, advertised.
		Or if it's the same like freetrade, routing every order to the likes of Knight, then I don't see any advantage to it.

	MyMoneyBlog: RIP Freetrade, I barely knew ye. Hello Ameritrade IZone.
		After hearing some rumors, I just read an e-mail from FreeTrade saying that they will be shutting down and transferring my account to Ameritrade IZone on April 29th.
		I should have seen the writing on the wall, as IZone was newly introduced about 6 months ago, and had many of the same features as FreeTrade.
		They also offer real-time quotes (FreeTrade did not), but as I posted earlier I can already get that.

		The biggest concern I have is system downtime, probably one of the worst thing is to be in a huge day trade and unable to close out your position.
		From there site: "In order for you to become a client of Freetrade, you must have two years' experience as a client of a discount broker." The fills, I've heard, are decent.
		The downside is that there are no phone orders, so if your internet connection goes down, you're stuck.

		When I cancelled my E-Trade account, there was a long hold time, and then the person who cancelled my account was rather rude - they said "Ok, it's cancelled" and basically just hung up on me. In contrast, when cancelling my account with Ameritrade, the person actually asked me why (E-Trade didn't even ask).
		I told them I was going to move to FreeTrade instead, and they said that the could either close my account as wished, or I could "freeze" the account.
		One drawback of using FreeTrade for my brokerage is that I don't get free real-time quotes.
