  Freebox
The freebox, one of the best examples of this tradition, is simply a box into which one puts old or simply unwanted items for the next person to use, and takes whatever interests them.
The freebox is for books, dolls, toys, kitchen items, anything you don’t plan to use that you suddenly see is simply taking up space in your life.
The freebox in People’s Park gets so many donations that the people who grab an armful of clothing to try to resell it for money (and good luck with that) are a blessing.

Freebox is equally well respected by his peers for his optimistic outlook, utmost respect, and constant motivation to push forward fresh ideas and new advances to the ever-changing face of dance music and the culture that surrounds it.

To the City, the notion of finding a Freebox 'alternative' means establishing some kind of mechanism, no matter how ineffectual, for providing 24-hour access to free clothing.
The fact that it's not just homeless people who use the Freebox, and it's not just clothing that's exchanged through it, is something the City and UC don't want to admit -- because you cannot replace a community-based barter program with a charity administering to the poor and downtrodden from a church basement.

The Freeplayer service is available to all subscribers with a Freebox v3 or v4, whether or not they are using an unbundled line, and the Freebox subscription charge remains exactly the same.

My ISP (free.fr) is providing a new service to his customers: it's now possible for us to receive streams (tv streams) from our triplay modem-set-top-box (named freebox) on our computers through VLC.
I'm not very aware of the technology used, but the ISP describe it like that: The freebox modem is running a RTSP and HTTP server able to stream MPEG2 TS on all his network interfaces (ethernet, WiFi, USB).
The freebox is in bridge mode, and the firewall IS forwarding correct ports to my computer (hence "multiposte" works with Windows XP on the same machine).
