 Freeman's Corner
Freeman's Corner in Perry County is the southeast corner of the Vincennes Tract deeded in 1803 to the United States of America by several nations of Indians in the Treaty of Ft. Wayne.
Freeman's cooks, tent men, hunters and camp followers were nearby and there may have been a few Indian chiefs provided for in the Treaty to help.
Most of Freeman's note books are about three inches by six inches made by hand out of fools cap paper, sewed together with thread as awkwardly as a man could do it or tied together with strips of buckskin cut as thin as a pioneer could cut them.

The township of Armadia, or Armada, was organized under a legislative enactment, approved April 22, 1833, lying off from the surveyed townships, Town 5 north, Ranges 13 and 14 east of the meridian, and ordering the first township meeting to be held at the house of Edmund Stewart the first Monday in April, 1834.

It is on the Michigan Air-Line Railway, and is the center of a prosperous farming region.

Phragmites have emerged on the Harrison Township lakeshore, in the adjoining drains and ditches, and have shown up as far inland as the banks of the Clinton River east of the Mount Clemens city limits.
Carl Freeman, a biology professor at Wayne State University, warns that the shoreline could be facing an ecological crisis.
The lower section of the river in Harrison Township is "saturated" with nutrients that feed aquatic plant growth, according to Jim Pistilli, an engineer for the county Public Works Commissioner's Office.

The township of Ray, erected April 12, 1827, comprised all the county of Macomb north of the third townships, and in the 13th range, and the first meeting was held at the house of Noah Webster, the last Monday in May, 1827.
The act of March 7, 1834, directed that surveyed Township 4 north, Range 14, be attached to and form a part of the town of Ray; and that the division between the townships of Clinton and Harrison should thereafter be the line dividing the 13th and 14th ranges.
The hamlet is located at the southwest corner of the township, within half a mile of the corner of the four townships of Shelby, Macomb, Washington and Ray.

Investigators responded to the scene and discovered two individuals, Zachary Freeman, 21, of Cedar Springs, and Robert Pursifull, 20, of Sand Lake, near a vehicle attempting to burn a box containing numerous personal documents, including some documents from a residence in Marcellus Township.
The homeowner then was called to the scene and confirmed some of the property in the suspects' vehicle had been stolen from his residence.
Freeman and Pursifull were arrested and lodged in the Cass County Jail.

Benjamin Davis, from Jefferson Co., N. Y., removed to Michigan in Octover, 1836, and remained in Wayne County until Jan. 1, 1837, when he settled with his family in the township of Leslie, Ingham Co., where he lived for thirty years, and died at the age of seventy.
Russell's brother-in-law, came to the township with the latter and settled in the same locality, and at present occupied the farm he then located.
Abbey Haynes, who, after the death of her husband, removed to Michigan from the town of Marcellus, Onondage Co., N. Y., with five children, and settled in the township of White Oak, Ingham Co. This was in 1838; one year later they removed to Onondaga township.

The log house and the lane enter the area on the west side of the road, as do the 480 acres which is part of the "Big Marsh." The nine acres bordering the road and Ackley Lake in Section 10 lies to the east side of the same road, the Bellevue-Marshall road.
The state of Michigan finally sold this last quarter to Isaac C. Crary on April 20, 1868, some 22 years after the rest of the marsh had been sold to private owners.
Later in 1882 and thereafter, one Charles H. Freeman began to acquire portions of the marsh and at one time or another owned most of it and for a Long time the natives knew the marsh as the Freeman marsh.

 Aurelius Township Michigan Early Settlement
Bullen early in 1837, and lived in the township until the fall of the same year, when he removed to the village of Jefferson, in Alaiedon township.
The first settler in the southeast part of the township was John Barnes, from Cayuga Co, N. Y., who purchased land in September, 1836, on sections 23 and 26, and settled with his family in June, 1837, half a mile east of what is now Aurelius Centre.
He was among the most prominent citizens in the township, and his sons, Orlando M., Zaccheus, and John A., have also become worthy and respectred citizens.
