 | | Sure, Philadelphia-based emcee Freeway comes out roaring on "Free," but his beat is reminiscent of a lot of recent hip-hop with short vocal hooks (Styles' "Good Times" comes to mind), and Freeway's growling voice isn't that distinct: He sounds like Cappadonna would if he had talent. |
 | | But assembly line flaws aside, Freeway is a talented rapper with a booming voice, even if his material is limited to the stereotypical smorgasbord of crack, guns ("He said roll with a sword, I roll with a gat!"), and an occasional bit of philosophy ("Don't stand for nothing but you fall for anything"). |
 | | Those who've caught his previous guest verses know Freeway is the real deal, and, if anything, this album proves annoying because you don't want guests snatching his mic. |
