		A freezing rain climatology of this magnitude is unprecedented and will serve as a foundation for local and national forecasting centers, particularly the Storm Prediction Center, to better understand regional and temporal susceptibility to freezing rain.
		Relative to all types of winter (freezing and frozen) precipitation, the percentages of freezing rain appear to be highest in the Southeast from North Carolina to Louisiana.
		Stratification of all freezing rain observations by intensity reveals that 99 percent are light, one percent are moderate and none are heavy.
