The sport's governing body FIA said that the French GP would be allowed to take place as long as two conditions were met by the end of this year.
For the French race to go ahead, FIA must receive confirmation that a contract is in place between Bernie Ecclestone's Formula One Management and the French motorsport's governing body, while all 10 Formula One teams must agree that the race can be rescheduled.
French motor sport authorities have expressed confidence that they will raise the seven million euros ($8.3 million) in funding needed to save next year's race.
