Many people also confuse Green Parties with Greenpeace, a global NGO prominent in the ecology movement, which like the Green political movement was founded in the 1970s, and shares some green goals and values, but works with different methods and is not organized as a political party.

The Green Party believes that that instead of a massive “mega project” we should be putting money into the hands of parents through expanded child tax credits and benefits, encourage employers to provide employee childcare, a reduced workweek, and, provide federal funding for early childhood education.
But because the Green Parties were created decades ago when there was a lot less depressing information and a lot fewer scared people, a significant percentage of social utopians were among the original founders and some of their ideals found their way into the constitutions and original documents of the organization.
