  Time Sharing Guidelines
Many child development specialists would find these guidelines are not flexible nor frequent enough for parents with a reasonably good coparenting relationship and when both parents are able to adequately care for their children.
A child who has not had frequent contact with the noncustodial parent due to geographic distance should not be separated from the noncustodial parent for more than a day or two.
Initially time sharing should be in the presence of an adult supervisor with whom the child is comfortable and without feelings of fear and intimidation.

US Spectrum Requirements: Projections and Trends - Chapter 7
Sharing between the mobile service and the space services in the 2025-2110 MHz and 2200-2290 MHz bands is considered to be a tenuous situation.[EN623] However, low-density mobile systems, such as electronic news gathering systems, have been sharing successfully with the space services in the 2025-2110 MHz band.
The sharing is successful primarily because the peacetime use of military radars does not affect amateur operation in large areas of the United States.
However, additional sharing is expected to be required for the military to maintain its radiocommunications infrastructure in view of the possible loss of frequencies to the private sector.

Defense Communications: Federal Frequency Spectrum Sale Could Impair Military Operations (Letter Report, 06/17/97, ...   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
An Air Force frequency management official told us that in prior years, many spectrum managers were not properly cleared to discuss the technical issues of frequency management in classified programs and managers of these classified programs were reluctant to talk to spectrum managers about frequency use requirements.
First, DOD has a study underway to determine its frequency requirements; but until that study is completed, it is not in a position to fully assess the implications of the 1993 act or future legislative actions to transfer additional federal spectrum to non-federal users.
We are concerned that the lack of coordination between FCC and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on frequency sharing may exacerbate the problem of potential interference between federal and nonfederal users of the frequency spectrum or, at a minimum, not serve to help overcome that problem.

If there is traffic at that frequency, the transmitter waits an interval and the transmitter and receiver both hop to the next frequency in the pattern and the transmitter listens again.
Once a frequency is found with no traffic, the transmitter sends a poll packet, and when that poll packet is acknowledged, the transmitter sends a data packet before the hop to the next frequency.

Document: Executive Summary of NTIA Report on Spectrum for 3G Services, 3/30/01.
The DOD analysis indicated that co-channel sharing between satellite control uplinks and transmitting IMT-2000 base stations would result in excessive interference to the uplink signal, and is not feasible due to the potential for harmful interference to satellite control signals at the orbiting satellites.
The potential for sharing the satellite control uplinks with IMT-2000 mobile units seems to be technically feasible, and the potential interference is within the range of prudent risk management.
Sharing frequencies between these airborne systems and IMT-2000 is not feasible because interference can occur over very large areas.

Frequency sharing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In telecommunication, frequency sharing is the assignment to or use of the same radio frequency by two or more stations that are separated geographically or that use the frequency at different times.
Frequency sharing reduces the potential for mutual interference where the assignment of different frequencies to each user is not practical or possible.
In a communications net, frequency sharing does not pertain to stations that use the same frequency.

RAND | Research Memoranda | The Technology Potentials for Satellite Spacing and Frequency Sharing.
In this analysis of the factors influencing satellite spacing and frequency sharing, system parameter constraints are derived that could improve the compatibility of satellite and microwave relay systems sharing a common spectrum.
There are nine possible direct interference modes for this sharing situation, and two potentially important scatter interference modes that involve the intersection of the main beam of an earth station with the main beam of a microwave relay station.

"Sharing between main beam downlink LEO and uplink GSO Satellites in the 1-3 GHz allocations" Report of IWP 815 to the JIWP, Jan. 28, 1991.
The invention relates to satellite communications, and, in particular, to a method for sharing a portion of a common frequency spectrum (typically a common frequency band or carrier frequency) by multiple, independent constellations or configurations of satellites.
There is also a substantial need for an earth station in a satellite communications system which can predict or detect interference in communications between it and two or more different satellites, or between at least one other earth station and two or more different satellites, and take appropriate measures to report and/or mitigate such interference.

A spurious response may be generated if the frequency of an interfering signal is such that the signal or one of its harmonics can mix with a local oscillator or one of its harmonics to produce an output in the receiver IF passband.
On the other hand, a frequency separation which reduces the interference signal in the receiver bandwidth to the level of the spurious emissions may be appropriate to avoid harmful interference as well.

The majority of injection drug users who are infected with hepatitis C continue to share needles and other drug paraphernalia after learning of their diagnosis and receiving information about the disease, suggesting that routine risk reduction counseling may be of "limited benefit," according to a study published in the Oct. 1 issue of
The study states that overall only 17% of participants reported decreasing their frequency of sharing needles, while 15.1% of participants reported a decrease in "backloading," a procedure in which drugs are injected from one syringe into the barrel of another syringe.
Overall, between 23% and 29% of participants decreased their frequency of sharing drug paraphernalia, but more than 50% of the hepatitis C group either increased or did not change their frequency of sharing cookers and rinse water.

This list of simplex frequency usage is the basis of "gentlemen's agreements." It is a matter of courtesy that one would refrain from using a frequency during the scheduled activities of a particular group.
Several years ago, someone decided that, if the different local groups using the same simplex frequency all used their own subaudible tone frequencies, that this frequency could be "shared" and all of these different groups could use this same frequency at once without the different groups hearing each other.

Sharing between spaceborne passive sensors and the MSS, FSS and BSS operating in the Earth-to-space direction is generally not feasible due to the direct mainlobe interference that results whenever an earth station of one of these services is in view of the sensor.
The feasibility of sharing between spaceborne passive sensors and the radionavigation-satellite and amateur-satellite services are considered similar to the feasibility of sharing between the spaceborne passive sensors and the MSS, FSS, and BSS services.

The sharing proposal, advanced by European delegates, was used as a bargaining chip against a U.S. proposal to allocate an additional 100 megahertz to non-geostationary Ka-band constellations, namely Teledesic Corp.'s broadband low-earth orbit system.
In pre-conference discussions last month, European delegates suggested they would not only resist the U.S. proposal but possibly seek to reverse the earlier allocation if a sharing plan were not agreed to.
An industry source said the sharing plan rests on provisional power limits on non-geostationary systems in the Ka and Ku bands.

NIDA NOTES - Drug Injectors Sharing Cookers and Cotton Increase Their Risk of Hepatitis C
Syringe sharing was associated with a three-fold higher risk of HCV infection as opposed to IDUs who did not share syringes, according to Dr. Hagan.
With respect to frequency of sharing equipment, the study confirmed the link between more syringe sharing and higher risk of HCV-the rate of infection was relatively higher among those who reported sharing syringes sometimes, usually, or always than among those who reported rare syringe sharing.
Hagan notes that Seattle-King County Public Health Department staff have already revised their prevention messages to include the risks of sharing equipment such as cookers and cotton, as well as sharing needles, but adds that many IDUs are not yet aware that these are high-risk practices.

Icasa to study frequency spectrum sharing
The Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa) will conduct a study to determine the technical feasibility of allowing channel 65 frequency to be shared by broadcasters and telecommunications operators.
Channel 65 falls within the 822 to 830 megahertz spectrum, which in South Africa has been kept for broadcasters and not shared with telephone operators as is the norm in other countries.
The decision to conduct a study followed hearings held in May, where broadcasters - the SABC, state-owned signal distributor Sentech and pay television channel M-Net - expressed their concerns about sharing the frequency, as there were fears that they would incur costs brought by the possible migration to other signals.
