Freddy vs. Jason - A Nightmare on Friday the 13th - Horror Movies
Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street were two independent success stories that packed people to the theatres based on word of mouth rather than glossy advertising.
The first 1/3 of the movie takes place much like a typical Friday the 13th movie, the second 1/3 belong to Freddy Kruger, and the happy ending is the fight of the century.
The movie is what you might expect it to be, but seeing it with your own 2 eyes is an experience that must be had.

The Friday the 13th movies were as integral to my youth as Mad Magazine, baseball cards and peanut butter, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

While falling well short of the quality level of Carpenter’s classic, Friday the 13th would go on to become one of the most successful genre films of all time—spawning eight sequels (with a reported ninth and tenth on the way) and reshaping the genre in its own image.
Friday the 13th is a film surrounded in misconception—from the identity of the killer in the first film through to its slasher film status.
At its core, Friday the 13th is a fairly elaborate mystery with some impressive and violent murder setpieces—just like the gialli of Argento, Bava, and countless others (in fact, Steve Miner, director of F13 2 and 3 has admitted to borrowing murder sequences from Bava’s Bay of Blood AKA Twitch of the Death Nerve).
