As the Allies came close to Buchenwald, the SS sent Frieda to Ravensbruck while overseeing a group of prisoners.
Frieda fled Ravensbruck in late April 1945 before the onset of the Russian Army.

Jahnke and Angel said they will use the brainstorming sessions to foster a sense of community among Cibola County's many artists, encourage people to share information about their artistic specialties, and gain a little inspiration for themselves about how to run the gallery and arts council.
"April is Children's Art Month," Jahnke said, "and it is celebrated nation-wide." Both parents and schools can lend out their children's and students' work for the exhibit.
The annual studio tour is planned for June 13-14, with an artists' reception planned for June 12, but the women encouraged local artists to sign up as soon as possible.
