 Heinrich Brunn
Born the son of a minister, Brunn attended the University of Bonn studying archaeology and philology under Friedrich Gottlieb Welcker (q.v.) and Friedrich Ritschl (1806-1876).
Brunn authored a guide to the Glyptothek in Munich in 1868; by 1888 he was appointed its director.
Brunn’s students included Walther Amelung (q.v.) and Paul Arndt (q.v.), Adolf Fürtwangler (q.v.) who succeeded him in Munich, and Julius Langbehn (q.v.); his lectures at the DAI inspired the work of Edoardo Brizio (q.v.).
