Frimley, on the outskirts of Camberley, dates from Saxon times,much older than its larger neighbour.  From 673 AD to 1537 Frimley was a farming village owned by Chertsey Abbey.  Later it developed as a coaching town on the busy London to Portsmouth road. 
In 1794 Frimley's transport links were further improved when the Basingstoke Canal was constructed through the town.
The excellent new Frimley Lodge Park, also at Mytchett, offers canalside walks plus mature woodland, parkland, sports facilities, play areas and a café.   The attractive area also boasts many lakes.

It contained "John Stevens Chauntery" where mass could be said; but the inhabitants of Frimley were required to attend service four miles away in their Mother Church at Ash and tithes were paid to Ash.
In 1860 Frimley was separated from Ash and became a parish.

After approx 1 mile, take the 5th turning on the right hand side (just before next roundabout) into Conifer drive, then right into Lime Avenue, the hotel is at the end of the drive.
If you miss the turning, go round the roundabout to come back on yourself and it is the 1st turning on your left.
