The BMW 328 was a sports car made by BMW between 1936 and 1940, designed by Fritz Fiedler.
After WW2, one of the Mille Miglia 328s (disguised as a Frazer Nash) and BMW's technical plans for the car were taken from the bombed BMW factory by English representatives from the Bristol Aeroplane Company and Frazer Nash companies.
Fiedler, the BMW engineer, was persuaded to come too.

Fritz Fielder (1899-1972), a qualified engineer, joined the (additional info and facts about BMW) BMW firm in 1932 as chief designer at the age of 32 after working for Horch, designed 8 cylinder and 12 cylinder cars.
Fritz persuaded Schleicher to return to BMW and these two were responsible for the new series of six cylinder cars that were to set the car division of BMW on the road to success.
The first car that Fielder was fully responsible for was the BMW Type 326 saloon that was shown at the International Automobile Ausstellung in (Capital of Germany located in eastern Germany) Berlin in 1936.

No offense to Fritz (who was good in the UHG and Routing talks), I could have given a better talk on SAC-SMA and Calibration Eve's (Warning response) and Phils (Red River) talks were both excellent because it is nice to hear about the after effects of our products.
