The county, on Wilson's recommendation, entered into a contract with Net 4 Enterprises, LLC to lease a storage facility that was built in addition to the Frontenac Laundry, to house the county's new election voting machines and ballot scanners.
County Counselor Jim Emerson said that in addition to what is governed under state statute, the county will also let out for bid interest rates for lease/purchase on bids, which is a county policy.
The building in Frontenac that was constructed by Net 4 Enterprises, LLC is a private building that the county is leasing for a period of five years at a cost of $750 per month.

One of you simply has to make a motion at the next county meeting that the money be transferred to the townships; two others have to vote yes, and it will be a done deal.
A year ago, just such a motion was on the point of being proposed when county staff asked that it be deferred until such time as staff could look at the complicated set of requirements that make up the federal gas tax agreement.
County staff has proposed that a decision over allocation of this money be deferred until after the 2007 budget is completed.

Frontenac Provincial Park is situated in Southern Ontario about 40 km (25 miles) north of the historical city of Kingston.
The easiest way to get to the park from Kingston, is to go north on Sydenham Road (Frontenac County Road 9) for approximatively 20 km.
After driving 13 Km on curvy County Road 19, you will see a larger Park sign indicating a right turn and a drive of 2.4 km.

The two major services that the county budgets for are the Fairmount Home for the Aged, for which the county increased the municipal levy by 3%, and the Frontenac Ambulance service, for which the county has decreased the levy by 1.5%
Central Frontenac Mayor Janet Gutowski and County Warden Ron Maguire from North Frontenac both wanted to keep the door open for county funding in future years, while South Frontenac Mayor Gary Davison’s position was aligned with that of Jim Vanden Hoek.
Two other issues, a $50,000 business continuity plan for the county and the four townships, and a request for $22,000 from RURAL VISONS in Sydenham for a homelessness prevention initiative, neither of which would impact the final outcome of the budget, were also deferred for later discussion.

The frontenac CFDC participated in the start-up of this initiative with federal, provincial, and local tourism partners and continues to support the Rideau Heritage Route Tourism Association (RHRTA) in their efforts to increase tourism visitation to the region.
The Frontenac CFDC was pleased to assist the Harrowsmith Social and Athletic Club with their community dance held in June 2006.
Frontenac CFDC supported this initiative in its first year (2004) by working with their fundraising committee on their proposal and budget to apply for funds from the Agricultural Adaption Council under their CanAdapt small Projects Initiative and these efforts resulted in a sponsorship of the event by CanAdapt.

Continuing his distinguished military career, he was commissioned an officer in the Royal Canadian Volunteer Regiment and served in the garrison at Kingston, (1797-1800) where he was commandant and at Fort George (1800-1802).

 Historical Plaques of Frontenac
Devoted largely because of self-interest to promoting the colony's territorial expansion, Frontenac established a series of fortified fur-trading posts extending into the interior of North America, the first of which, Fort Frontenac, was constructed near here in 1673.
Reappointed seven years later, Frontenac successfully defended New France from attacks by the Iroquois and English and continued, until his death in Quebec, to expand the western fur trade.
In 1673 he arranged a meeting between Governor-General Frontenac, who wanted to shift the centre of the fur trade away from Montreal, and representatives of the Iroquois at Cataracoui, the site of present day Kingston.
