		The album ends with a scary synth-outro, preceded by the two parts of "The Soul Is in the Dark Side", however remixed by Sebastian Komor of the Norwegian electro-gurus Icon of Coil and...
		Frozen is their first full-length release and shows a lot of promise.
		In fact, Frozen could be divided into two distinct parts, the first half of the album is the gothic, heavy guitar material, and the second half of the record is the techno side of Crowhead.

		However, if you already have all their albums, don't buy this, the two bonus songs both suck, one is a bad techno remix, the other is some sort of weird "moody" song that sounds like nothing the band has ever done before, and it should have remained that way.
		And it's no surprise they'd title their new album "Frozen In Time", since that seems to be what happened, the band got frozen back in '98, and have now been thawed, and they haven't even skipped a beat.
		It's a short album, only 10 songs, but it does the job of saying "Hey everyone, we're back!" A few of the songs really aren't that exciting, like for example the first track (an instrumental) is good, but it fades out at the end which seems like a lack luster way to begin an album.

		Frozen Orange is David Kilgour's second record for Merge, and it is every bit as wonderful as A Feather in the Engine and stacks up well against his best work with the Clean.
		The best song on the album is unlike anything Kilgour has done before; "Gold in Sound" is a laid-back, almost soft rock tune with gooey background shoo-wops and all kinds of guitars, keyboards, and vocals running through the song.
		"Frozen Orange" is the most Clean-sounding track with its driving beat and repetitive lyrics; "Dogs Barking" calls to mind Yo La Tengo at their most tuneful; "Blue Sky" and "Rolling" are glittering slices of cosmic country equal to anything modern country & western space cowboys like Beachwood Sparks have done.

	Frozen Shadows
		The drums sound is in my opinion the weakest point of the album, as it seems to me that their sound is not at the level of the rest, although it is only a personal opinion.
		In other words, this album is well produced, and the kind of "true fl metal" recorded in one take at the bottom of a vault is not the band's cup of tea.
		Frozen Shadows makes a kind of grim, semi-technical fl metal in the veins of Immortal at the times of Pure Holocaust yet with the intensity of Battles in the North, old Emperor (not too many breaks) and Dissection/Dawn; now those are names well worth listening, and so is this Frozen Shadows.

		Frozen Shadows is about halfway between old Emperor and old Immortal; there is even a song that ends in that abrupt Immortal style we've come to love.
		On the stereo the album is lacking, and the dirty, buzzing production doesn't let you soak up the atmosphere as it's intended.
		Frozen Shadows is a band that will be really good if it continues on the path it's on.

		Few albums that I have reviewed are so uncompromisingly bound to old, accepted patterns as this one by Frozen Autumn.
		Soothing keyboard sounds and clean computer drums lull you into the Depeche Mode universe with a voice at about the same equanimity of the original.
		Being bit more upbeat would have done the album good; if not in general then at least for a couple of songs so as to take away some of the lullaby atmosphere.
