German command launched operation on 14 June 1944 with almost 10,000 German and NDH soldiers against NOV i POJ at Fruska gora.
Operation ended on 6 August in failure since 6th Vojvodina Brigade retread to south-west Syrmia and one battalion of the 1st Syrmian partisan detachment to south-east Syrmia and on the way back Brigade attacked German garrison in Calma.
On 26 July German forces moved from Fruska gora towards south-east Syrmia, 7th Vojvodina Brigade together with 2nd Syrmian and Majevica (arrived from Eastern Bosnia) partisan detachment retreated to Slavonia and until 9 September fought as part of 6th Corps.
