  Fu Manchu Summary
Fu Manchu is a fictional character, an evil genius of Manchu origin, first featured in a series of novels by Birmingham author Sax Rohmer (real name Arthur Sarsfield Ward) during the early years of the 20th century.
A master criminal, Fu Manchu works for the overthrow of Western civilization or the "White race." His murderous plots are marked by the extensive use of apparently Asian methods; he disdains guns or explosives, preferring dacoits, phansigars, and members of other secret societies as his agents armed with knives, or using "pythons and hamadryads...

Metal Invader ( Fu Manchu - Go For It …Live ) Review.
FU MANCHU are one of my all time favourite bands and to me one of the three best heavy rock bands that the 90’s produced (the other two being KYUSS and MONSTER MAGNET).
FU MANCHU did themselves justice, and to us a favour, and included songs from even their earliest studio albums creating a playlist representing as evenly as possible their career.
FU MANCHU in the 97 minutes of this double album deliver their fuzzy-heavy-groovy-riff rock unstoppably in the way that only they can, and they do so remarkably well.

 Mammoth Records > Fu Manchu
Fu Manchu has always been about the ride -- windows down, stereo cranked, beach on the passenger side, headin' down the Pacific Coast Highway with beer in the cooler and surfboards on the roof.
The heavy guitars still erupt (though not always blanketed by the band's previously ubiquitous fuzz), and the rhythm section still jackhammers away, but their sonic blasts are often shot with refreshingly hooky melodies.
Fu Manchu have risen above the stoner-rock- meets-Sabbath tag (which is at once accurate and too limiting) and proven themselves to be in a category of their own, touring with the likes of P.O.D. and Sevendust, opening new eyes and ears to Fu's myriad charms.

The 22-track, 95-minutes long set documents their 2002 tour of the US and Europe, and culls tracks from all eras of the band, underlining the sheer consistent quality of their output and their continued relevance on the stoner scene.
But it's the pummeling, filthy riffage of Scott Hill and Bob Balch that really defines the monster rawk of Fu Manchu, especially in a live context where songs are stretched and pulled in new and strange directions.
Regarded as a career overview, this is a fine introduction to the band, although older fans are likely to be most thrilled by this, seeing that the band's studio albums have generally failed to live up to the great live experience that this band represents.
