		The wetlands of the La Nava and Boada complex are located in the towns of Fuentes de Nava and Boada de Campos, respectively, province of Palencia, about 200 kilometers north of Madrid.
		This cycle is reproduced in the recovered wetlands, although the water is channeled artificially from the Canal de Castilla.
		The original wetland of La Nava, also known as “Mar de Campos,” was one of the largest wetlands in Spain, with an average extension of 2500 hectares (8.3 km long by 3 to 5 km wide).

		urrounding the village, there is the Castilla Canal branch in Tierra de Campos which comes from the North, where there is a bridge which is crossed by the road that leads to Fuentes de Nava.
		n the middle of the main square, next to Saint Eugenia´s church, it can be seen a fountain from 1594 made by the stonemasons Juan de Hermosa and Pedro de Cerecedo, which substitued and old one.Outside the village, in the East, there is the "Humilladero"(a place where people were placed to be humiliated).
		Saint John´s church was on fire in 1771 and Saint Pelayo´s church was demolished this century.

		The participants in the Palencia workshop visited the Laguna de la Nava de Fuentes RS on a rainy afternoon, situated in the cereal steppe area of the Castilla y Leon region in Spain.
		Mayor J. Gutierrez of Fuentes de la Nava (second from left) explains the positive effects on the local economy of the restoration activities undertaken by the regional government (Junta de Castilla y Leon), in addition to the management planning and education work by the Fundación Global Nature.
		The RS is important for wintering geese and other waterfowl, as well as a key area for Great Bustards and other open country animals, including Little Bustard, crane and wolf.
