The history of the Fuji Lineage of Nikko is a convoluted story all on its own.
In an attempt to upstage Kityama Honmonji Temple, the Myohonji Temple founded Kuonji Temple in the town of Koizumi in the Fuji District in 1406.
Outside of the Fuji area, there would eventually be three other important temples of the Fuji Lineage: Yanase Jitsujoji, Hota Myohonji, and Yoboji in Kyoto (formerly the Jogyo-in and Juhonji Temples).

The district court held that the lack of scientific proof of the discovery purportedly made by the Purdue inventors was a material fact that was inconsistent with statements made by Purdue to obtain allowance of the patents' claims over rejections by the patent examiner.
The district court also held that the pattern of misrepresentations made by Purdue to the examiner was evidence of intent to mislead the Patent Office.
The district court denied this motion, and the denial was appealed to the Federal Circuit.

Liverpool & London Steamship v. Queen of Leman MV (5th Cir. 2002)
To this end, Tokio and Fuji filed a motion for summary judgment, arguing that LandL did not have a maritime lien for unpaid insurance premiums under Rule C. Their argument was essentially that the PandI insurance contract called for the application of English substantive law, which did not give LandL a maritime lien.
Fuji and Tokio argue that the reference to local law in Rules 47C and 48 is limited to the procedural aspects of enforcing liens.
In the ABRA case, we AFFIRM the district court's resolution of the choice of law issue and conclude that Interforce is bound by this contractual provision.

Trademark Functionality Did Not Require Literal Patent Infringement - an alert from the Association of Patent Law Firms
Fuji argues that we must remand this case to the district court so that court can conduct a claim construction analysis in the first instance before we can evaluate the patents under the doctrine of equivalents.
Accordingly, we affirm the district court's use of Fuji's patents in its functionality analysis and hold that an evaluation under the doctrine of equivalents is appropriate in the course of this kind of factual finding.
The court's investigation was properly illuminated by the language of the patents, consideration of the doctrine of equivalents, and witness testimony—in short all the evidence considered during the trial.

 Fuji-No-Yama, by Lafcadio Hearn, 1898
Rising to a height of nearly 12,500 feet, Fuji is visible from thirteen provinces of the Empire.
So from every district of the Empire pilgrims annually wend their way to Fuji; and in nearly all the provinces there are pilgrim-societies--Fuji-Ko--organized for the purpose of aiding those desiring to visit the sacred peak.
As a matter of history, all this district was buried yards deep in 1707 by an eruption from the side of Fuji.

 Nikko Shonin
His school subsequently developed, known as the "Fuji School", transfer documents "proving" that he had been appointed direct successor, but unfortunately either the originals were stolen and lost, or the works that "prove" his role as successor were apocryphal in the first place.
According to Fuji sectarian histories, their disagreement concerned the behavior of Hakii Nanbu Rokuro Sanenaga, the jito or steward of Minobu and lay patron of Nichiren while the latter had lived on the mountain.
Non Fuji School people are often unwilling to acknowledge that many of their current doctrines owe more to Nikko than to the other five elder priests, or that Nikko's criticisms were on target.

Brief for the United States : U.S. v. Eastman Kodak Co.
Whether the district court's conclusion that Kodak no longer has market power with respect to the sale of amateur color negative film is clearly erroneous, in light of the district court's findings of fact pointing to the likelihood that Kodak continues to exercise such power.
But the district court's decision, replete as it is with findings attesting to Kodak's continuing market power, stands as a statement that defendants seeking decree termination need not, in reality, prove that a decree's purposes have been accomplished, and indeed that the government in effect must prosecute an antitrust case de novo.
The district court's erroneous ruling threatens serious harm to sound enforcement of the antitrust laws, and therefore we urge the Court to reverse and remand with instructions to reinstate the 1921 and 1954 decrees.

A district court judge agreed, yet the Nevada Supreme Court ruled the petition interfered with the city's ability to manage its property and ordered the initiative question removed from the November ballot.
