		Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko) is the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes.

		Fuji has five lakes around it, when we climbed to the first lake we re-grouped and Phillip snapped this photo of me.
		I haven't climbed for about five months so it would be interesting to see how screwed up it would make me. The climb was really tough with the grade rarely dropping under eight percent and often around 11 percent for the first five k.
		The next twenty five perhaps a tad slower, then the last section suffering in the inland heat as we turned in from the ocean toward wine country again.

		Just so you are clear and we are not assuming you know this, there are areas to see Fuji from (Hakone, as mrwunrfl said, and if the weather is clear) and there is a different itinerary for actually going closer to Fuji and the "five lakes" region that surrounds the mountain.
		There are not the tourist sites there as there are in Hakone, but there is an amusement park (Fuji Highlands), a hotel affiliated w/that park where you can have lunch and catch the view if you are lucky, many small inns on the lakes surrounding the base, and lots of hiking opportunities.
		To get to Fuji Five Lakes region I believe you have to go from Yokohama to Tokyo station, then it is about 2 hrs by train or 3 hrs by bus.
