 Fuji Rock Festival: 4 days of camping, concerts, mud, and fun
The first official day of the festival was Friday so there were some special acts on Thursday night including band performances and a circus/freak-show act.
Their Fuji Rock set was fantastic- they played only upbeat songs and they had the crowd going nuts.
It was a great way to end the festival and I would not hesitate to do it all over again…except this time I think I would wear a pair of rubber boots and find a waterproof tent.

OK, the Fuji Rock Festival was absolutely amazing - it’s been a while since I’ve been to a weekend music festival, and this was as good as I remember.
I actually went to the Fuji Rock Festival when it started in 1997 and whilst the music was excellent, the organisation was poor.
Despite it’s name, the festival is held yearly in Naeba, in the mountains north of Tokyo - it’s 75 min.

There is a smaller "white stage" and a groovy food zone accompanied by a large trance area, ideal for napping and other mellow activities between the Green stage and the Field of Heaven.

Red rocks, was nice, but we estimated about 300-500 at night one, and it thinned out from there.
