Methods: The healthy 189 volunteers (127 male, 62 female, mean age of 20.4 ± 2.1 years) without any past or present history of TMD were recruited from Dental School students in Iwate Medical University.
All the subjects were asked to fill out the self-administered questionnaire for screening their general and oral health conditions, then clinical examination, and three types of psychological questionnaires (Cornell Medical Index; CMI, Self-rating Depression Scale; SDS, Manifest Anxiety Scale; MAS) were performed in the initial year.
