Full Frontal (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Full Frontal was a highly praised Australian sketch comedy series which debuted in 1993.
Full Frontal retained the same general format of Fast Forward - it was formatted like someone continuously channel surfing and after the punchline each sketch would abruptly switch to the next as if someone had switched channels - however the new show basically had an all-new regular cast.
Full Frontal is well known for launching the television careers of Eric Bana and Shaun Micallef and is widely considered the most popular Australian sketch to date.

It is believed that the series was the world's first to include a portrayal of a gay couple as normal people fully accepted by and integrated into their community.
When the series premiered viewers were presented with a level of titilation and taboo subjects that had never been seen on Australian television before, and the event came to be known as "the night Australian television lost its virginity".
The series was shot on videotape initially in fl and white but switching to colour in late 1974.

Initially starting off as an extension of the program 'Fast Forward' with the title 'Fast Forward's Full Frontal', within a year the show had totally replaced it's great but slowly aging predecessor to become one of the great comedy shows on Australian television.
Some of the skits were beginning to show their age and this was beginning to be a bit of a drag on the laughs.

New York's Premier Alternative Newspaper. Arts, Music, Food, Movies and Opinion
Shot partly on consumer-model digital video, it’s a heavily improvised riff on artifice and reality in Hollywood (gee, we’ve never seen that before) in which an ensemble cast faces the reality of their own plastic lives (or something like that).
One such client is a producer named Gus (David Duchovny), who has no direct contact with any other major character, despite the fact that all of them are eventually headed for a birthday party in his honor.
Full Frontal is not a disgrace, exactly, but it feels more like a time-waster than anything else Soderbergh has made–including the improvisational, pseudo-documentary Schizopolis, which starred Soderbergh.

Full Frontal follows the lives of several people connected by varying degrees to the production of Rendez Vous, the film within the film that itself contains a film within a film.
Though "Full Frontal" boasts of its great casts including Julia Roberts, the film is rather an experimental indie film, mostly shot in 18 days with a digital camera (which cost only $ 4,600).
And as the experimental film, "Full Frontal" is not as innovative as "Schizopolis" (in which Soderbergh himself starred).

That's because once in a while, you get this really good title that redefines the quality of its genre and then it is followed by a slew of mediocre imitations that serve only to stereotype the very things that made the original good.
I kid you not, if someone were to summarize Dreams TV in two phrases, it would be "Masuo is a wuss" and "Nagisa keeps bathing".
For example, there's Isobe, the "meddling" secondary character that helps out both Nagisa and Masuo in her own scheming way, and there are the numerous ways that Masuo expresses shock/disappointment (collapsing in a sand heap, flying away *by himself*, flattening out, etc) instead of the usual Naru-punch-homerun thing.
