 AAW: Full Metal Panic Quicklook
Full Metal Panic is an all around enjoyable series that combines the disparate genres of mecha war story and wacky high school comedy.
The collection of likable and creative characters and comedy with an edge are enough to make Full Metal Panic memorable and fun, and it's definitely worth a shot if the idea sounds at all appealing.
It still fails to be very original: the genres alternate but rarely mix, leading to bit of a scattered feel, and despite a lot of grit and gorgeous Gonzo animation neither genre ever breaks from their respective cliches.

AAW: Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu Review
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu may lack the drama and edge of the original series, but as a straight comedy it is far more successful at tapping the premise and collection of lively and likable characters.
Visually, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu doesn't have quite the polish and flair of the original series, but the character art and animation are almost as good (meaning very good), and the somewhat lower (but still high) budget is spent where it counts, leaving no noticeable weak points in the fast-paced animation.
Fumoffu does do very well with small tie-ins, however; once introduced, even minor characters often reappear, and there are enough brief references to past events to give the feeling that it's all tied together, even though it's almost entirely episodic in construction.

 Anime Tempy
Fumoffu TV consists of 15 "chapters” that are ether a full or half a episode in length, 11 weekly 25 minute long episodes were showcased in the original broadcast however one episode (consisting of two “chapters”) was not released on television because the story mirrored an unpleasant situation in Japanese current events.
All there is here is the same highly likable characters with several humorous additions participating in full or have episode story arcs, that never once failed to but a grin on my face.
Fumoffu takes everything that didn't work about the first series and throws it away allowing for the exploration and expansion of everything that worked, highly likable characters and an interesting spin on a heavily used (and abused) formula involving romantic drama/comedy set in high school.
